Viceroy Chicago

Stayed here during President’s Day weekend in one of their deluxe king rooms on the seventh floor. The service of this hotel is fantastic. The staff definitely goes the extra mile for their guests. No complaints about the staff that works here. The hotel itself is very aesthetically pleasing, including the rooms. However, this is classified as a 5-star hotel and it’s lacking 5-star accommodations. The hotel room we stayed in had a terrible, stiff, uncomfortable bed. The pillows have no resiliency in them, flatten instantly upon resting on them. We had to request extra pillows and layer them on top of each other to establish comfortable sleeping positions. Moreover the sheets felt like sandpaper (less than 250 thread count). Probably one of the worst hotel beds I’ve ever slept on. Further, the HVAC system sounded like someone/something was howling through the night from 10PM-1AM. This was our first time at a Viceroy property and I don’t know if we’ll ever stay with them again. I think we’ll stick with Marriott Bonvoy properties for a good night’s rest.

I booked it through Travelocity and stayed during the Thanksgiving holiday. Room service was quick and yummy everyday. The view was AMAZING, the bathroom is a sanctuary and what made it even better is the separate room for the toilet which is hard to find these days. The decor can't get any better! My only complaint is the front desk staff, one lady in particular was rude to me and my guest but everyone else including the valet and doorman were professional and friendly.
